About Program

CUEP: Community Unity & Empowerment Program Led by: Circle of Hope Association Foundation Location: Gurughar and Community Halls

Format: Weekly Open Forum Discussions Language: English & Punjabi

Purpose

CUEP is an open community platform built to:

  • Help those silently suffering emotionally, socially, or financially
  • Rebuild trust and unity among individuals, families, and businesses
  • Empower youth, support elders, and uplift newcomers

This program is not about lectures or fixing others it's about creating a safe, judgment-free space where people can speak, listen, and grow together.

Weekly Class Format (75-90 min)

  • Opening with a short prayer or reflection
  • Reminder: “This space is for us not for judgment.”
  • Welcome & Grounding (5-10 min)
  • Weekly Theme Discussion (15-20 min)

Examples:

  • Why are we stressed and depressed?
  • Why do we struggle despite working hard?
  • Are we united or divided by jealousy and ego?
  • Is today's generation really negative, or just unheard?

Open Forum Sharing (30-40 min)

  • Participants share stories, experiences, and perspectives.
  • Listening without interruption or advice.

Community Reflemion (15 min)

  • Identify common struggles.
  • Discuss how we can respond as a united community.

Action Circle & Closing (10 min)

  • One-word takeaway round.
  • Announcements, next session preview.
  • Encourage follow-up connections and care.

Participation

  • Open to all: youth, parents, elders, newcomers, business owners.
  • Speak or just listen silently both are welcome.
  • Volunteers support with setup, listening, and follow-up.

CUEP Open Forum Launch Session

Title: “Why Are We Struggling?”

Format: Community Listening & Discussion Circle

Duration: 90 minutes

Audience: Open to all (youth, adults, elders, newcomers) Facilitator Role: To guide discussion, not preach or lecture Language:

Bilingual (English + Punjabi suggested) Purpose of This Session.

To openly explore the emotional, social, and psychological challenges people in our community face without shame, fear, or blame. This is not a mental health seminar. It's a human gathering, rooted in empathy, humility, and honest reflection.

Discussion Questions / Themes

You can use these as guiding questions for open discussion. Write them on a board or hand them out to participants.

  1. Why are we so stressed and depressed today?
  2. What pressures are people quietly carrying?
  3. Are we allowed to say "I'm not okay" in our families?
  4. Why do so many of us struggle emotionally or financially, even when we work hard?
  5. What invisible walls stop us from growing or being at peace?
  6. What role do fear, guilt, or shame play in keeping us stuck?
  7. Why aren't we happy—even with money, family, or comfort?
  8. What does "happiness" mean to you today?
  9. Have we lost balance in the race for more?
  10. Is today's generation negative? Or just hurting?
  11. Are our youth truly negative, or are they overwhelmed and unsupported?
  12. What messages are we giving the next generation?
  13. Are we united? Or divided by ego, jealousy, and comparison?
  14. What would it look like if we truly lifted each other up? Session Format Suggestion

Opening reflection, prayer, and intention setting.

  • Weekly Theme lntrodumion (10 min)

Facilitator introduces key community-based questions.

  • Open Sharing Circle (40 min)

Participants are invited to speak, listen, or submit anonymous reflections.

  • Group Reflemion & Insights (20 min)

The group identifies emotional themes and possible solutions.

  • Action Circle & Closing (10 min)

Small commitments are shared and follow-ups arranged.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are vital to CUEP and may serve as:

  • Greeters and emotional check-in supporters
  • Trained listeners and anonymous story readers
  • Session note takers and report writers
  • Youth & senior connection ambassadors
  • Follow-up care volunteers
